Converting different measurements into common units so you can perform arithmetic operations can be really tedious!
Suppose you must total a decimal value (0.25), a degree value (90°), a percentage value (25%) and a fractional value (1/4). I've purposely chosen an easy and silly example (four quarters).
Here's how "Junior" might perform this operation using conventional math:
This involves four different mathematical equations and is really tedious and prone to errors, especially for kids.
'Pizza Pursuits' + "Visual Learners' = 'Cool math'!"
Here's how visual learners can do this addition using four number-4 Pizza Pursuits Veggie cards. Note: the Pizza Pursuits cards are separated vertically to show the 0.25, 90° and 25% markings.
First align the start of the degree tag on the 2nd card with the end of the decimal tag on the 1st card.
Next align the start of the % tag on the 3rd card with the end of the degree tag on the 2nd card.
Finally align the start of the fraction tag on the 4th card with the end of the % tag on the 3rd card.
The sum of all four cards may be found by reading the end of the fraction tag on the 4th card on the decimal scale on the 1st card. |
Note this is much easier to do than explain in words. Visual learners 'get it' and can 'see' the results instantly.
This is purposely a very simple example. Your visual learners can find thousands of different Pizza Pursuits card combinations that total one whole pizza, see game cheats for over 5,000 examples.
Your kids may never encounter problems like this in real life. However, this kind of mental exercise forces them to think 'outside the box' and builds problem-solving ability and intellectual power.
"So why not eat pizza, play Pizza Pursuits, play cool math games with your visual learners one night a week?"
This plan is simple and inexpensive. Yet it could have a dramatic effect on your kids' math scores and future success, especially if they're 'visual learners'.
You don't have to pay for a tutor. You don't have to teach or bone up on your fractions. Just play cards together! Now that's cool math, huh?
Empower your children now. Help them leap ahead academically and watch their self-confidence grow too. It's not too late for them if you act now! |
I wish you and yours countless hours of cool math fun and learning. Enjoy!
